We are currently hiring for the following positions:

BARTENDER

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Resumé and proven working experience as a Bartender with craft cocktails

  • Prepare and serve beverages to guests according to recipes and instructions

  • Stock/restock the bar with alcohol, glassware, ice and supplies

  • Availability to work varying hours days and shifts, including weekends (Thursday-Sunday)

  • Ability to service a full bar top and taproom orders while keeping work surfaces clean and organized

  • Safely and effectively transport beverages to a table

  • Ability to tolerate hands being exposed to liquids repeatedly (water, cleaning solutions, alcohol, various juices and other liquids)

  • Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives and blenders

  • Multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a small, crowded, fast-paced environment

  • Ability to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift

DUTIES AND SKILLS

  • Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations

  • Use discretion and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and respond with patience and courtesy

  • Safely and properly change mead or beer kegs

  • Manually wash and sanitize glassware using a three compartment sink

  • Account for and maintain all bar stock and inventory

  • Responsible for printing nightly closeout reports

  • Ability to recognize an intoxicated guest and refuse to over serve guests

  • Take accurate drink orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization, process payments, and account for and balance all sales/receipts

  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make menu recommendations

  • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures

  • Successfully complete Illinois BASSET training

  • Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook

  • Get along well with others and be a team player

COMPENSATION: STARTING AT $12/HR + TIPS

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Experience:

  • Bartending: 2+ years (Required)
